External LPS Meets Internal SPDs

How air terminals and down conductors interact with power SPDs.

Separation distance

External LPS conductors can induce voltages on nearby cables. Maintain separation or bonding as required by IEC 62305 practice and local codes.

Service entrance bond

Where the LPS and electrical earthing meet, Type 1 SPDs often become necessary to equalize potential between power conductors and the LPS earth.
